How it works

Our mail in data recovery service operates in four steps, and our data recovery services run the full stack — controller-level repair, head and platter work, NAND chip-off, RAID rebuild. Free diagnostic on every case. Standard turnaround: three to seven business days from quote approval. Rush service is faster — engineers are available 24/7 for emergency data recovery services via WhatsApp.

  1. Ship. Pack the device securely and ship it to our Las Vegas facility. UPS, FedEx, or USPS — tracking number provided. Severely damaged devices, drives in pieces, and water-damaged hardware all welcome — pack with extra protection inside a rigid box.
  2. Diagnose. Device routed to one workbench and logged into a case file. Our engineering team identifies the failure mode — logical, mechanical, or physical — and determines the recovery path: controller-level repair, head and platter work, firmware imaging, chip-off NAND extraction, or RAID array reconstruction.
  3. Quote. Firm price and a recoverable file list provided before any recovery work begins. Data recovery services cost is quoted up front — no diagnostic fee, no obligation to proceed. The decision is yours; the case stays in queue while you decide. Approve to move forward, or close the case at no charge.
  4. Recover & Return. On approval, data is recovered to a new USB drive (or destination of your choice) and shipped back. Standard turnaround: three to seven business days from approval. Chip-off NAND and deep-firmware RAID rebuilds: five to ten days. Rush service is faster.

Why eProvided wins the hardest data recovery cases

eProvided’s data recovery services handle the cases other shops route to us — drives in pieces, snapped USB sticks, cracked microSD and SD cards, water-damaged smartphones, fire-damaged storage, locked iPhones and Android devices, dead SSD controllers, and complex RAID arrays with multiple failed drives. The engineering depth comes from twenty-six years of dedicated recovery work at our Las Vegas facility — every device, every brand, every failure mode handled by the same engineering team that built the practice.

Brand specialization across the full storage ecosystem — Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba, Hitachi, and Samsung for spinning drives; Samsung 980 Pro and 990 series, Crucial, Western Digital SN850, Kingston, and SK Hynix for SSDs and NVMe; SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung, Lexar, and Transcend for flash and memory cards; Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Motorola for smartphones; Synology, QNAP, Dell, and HP enterprise servers for RAID and NAS. Our data recovery services include head-stack swaps with donor matching, BGA reballing for dead controllers, raw NAND extraction with custom programmers, firmware-level repair, deep RAID rebuild for failed enterprise arrays, and chip-off NAND extraction for locked or non-booting smartphones.

The credentials behind the engineering depth: NASA Helios and DaVinci mission data recovery (2018), recoveries supporting FBI investigations under NDA, work performed for the Department of Defense since 2003, featured in Popular Mechanics (2005), Reuters, and government IT publications. Tens of thousands of recoveries across individuals, businesses, government, military, legal, medical, and enterprise clients.

Where eProvided’s data recovery leads

Severely damaged hardware

Drives in pieces. Snapped USB connectors with the chip still readable. Cracked microSD cards where only the NAND remains intact. Smartphones submerged in pools, washing machines, or saltwater. Drives recovered from house fires and dropped from significant height. Our engineering team treats severely damaged hardware as the standard case load — chip-off NAND extraction bypasses dead controllers, BGA reballing brings back devices written off by other recovery shops, and platter-level work salvages drives with head crashes that scoured magnetic surfaces.

Brand-specific expertise

Every storage manufacturer has its own controller architecture, firmware quirks, and failure modes. Our data recovery services cover the major brands at depth: Western Digital and Seagate mechanical drives (donor-matched head swaps), Samsung and Crucial SSDs (raw NAND extraction when the controller fails), SanDisk and Kingston flash media (chip-off recovery from cracked or snapped cards), Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones (chip-off from locked or water-damaged devices), and enterprise RAID arrays running on Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, Synology, and QNAP hardware.

Forensic, encrypted, and high-security cases

NDAs signed on request for government, military, legal, medical, financial, and corporate clients. BitLocker, FileVault, and hardware-encrypted drives — the encrypted container is recovered intact; unlock occurs on the client side using the original key. eProvided does not break, crack, or store encryption keys. Recoveries performed for the Department of Defense since 2003. Recoveries supporting FBI investigations are confidential under NDA.

Complex RAID and enterprise recovery

RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, JBOD, and proprietary array configurations. Multi-drive failures, controller failures, accidental rebuild on degraded arrays, missing drives, deep-firmware-level reconstruction. Synology, QNAP, Drobo, Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V), and database-on-RAID recovery for SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL deployments. Enterprise turnaround prioritized; rush service for production-down cases.

Mail-in data recovery FAQ

How do I ship my device safely?

Pack the device in its original case if available, or wrap it in anti-static material with at least two inches of foam or bubble wrap on every side. Use a rigid box. Severely damaged devices and drives in pieces should be packed inside an additional sealed bag to keep small parts from shifting. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all deliver reliably to our Las Vegas facility.

Do you accept international shipments and emergency cases worldwide?

Yes. eProvided accepts mail-in data recovery shipments from anywhere in the world — Canada, Mexico, UK, EU, Australia, Asia-Pacific, and beyond. Engineers are available 24/7 for emergency cases anywhere worldwide; contact us via WhatsApp at +1 714-225-9700 to confirm rush status before shipping. Customs declarations: list as “personal storage device for data recovery, no commercial value.”

What if I have an encrypted drive (BitLocker, FileVault, hardware encryption)?

The encrypted container is recovered — raw bits, intact. Unlock occurs on the client side using the original key, password, or recovery phrase. eProvided does not break, crack, or store encryption keys. If the key has been lost, the data is mathematically unrecoverable. Encryption is a client safeguard; we respect it.

Can you recover from a drive that doesn’t show up or makes clicking sounds?

Yes — those are the two most common failure modes we handle. Clicking typically indicates head failure; “not detected” can be controller-board, firmware, or NAND. Both are recoverable in our facility. Power the device off and ship as-is. Do not power it back on to “check” — additional power cycles can compound damage.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes — mutual non-disclosure agreements are signed for any case that requires one. Government, military, legal, medical, financial, and corporate clients receive an NDA on request. Standard handling already meets the confidentiality bar most clients require; the NDA formalizes it.

How is my data secured during recovery?

The device is logged into a single case file and remains at one workbench, secured when not in active work. Recovered data is written to a new USB drive (or a client-specified destination) and shipped back. The working copy on our recovery workstation is securely wiped on case closure.

What if you can’t recover my data?

No Data, No Data Recovery Fee. The free diagnostic is genuinely free even when the data is determined unrecoverable. Payment is owed only when files are successfully recovered and returned.
