Samsung launches the first Netbook with Solar Energy as the primary Power Source
Samsung Electronics Announced the launch of its first Netbook that uses solar energy to Recharge the Internal Battery. This is the NC215S, 10 inches, ultra-portable, with a built-in high-performance dual-core STI Intel Atom processor.
The solar panel is integrated in the front of the NC215S, which makes it possible to re-charge the battery automatically when it receives sunlight. Just two hours of solar charging provides the user with more than one hour of use. As if this is not enough, to provide seamless mobility; the new Netbook has a 14.5 hour long lasting battery.
This intelligent battery charging technology gives three times the life when compared to the conventional battery, and is capable of performing a load of 1.000 cycles for a period of three years.

In addition, the Samsung netbook meets environmental requirements with a very low power consumption and is designed in such a way that it can be recycled. It also guarantees image quality, low noise and low electric and magnetic fields.

Among the most striking feature, the highlight is the powerful dual-core Intel Atom processor. The Intel GMA 3510 Processor provides quick graphic performance and unmatched processing speed in the mobile computing industry. The new processor also enables the user to experience entertainment the way it was meant to be experienced. We are also able to use the most processor intensive applications, and flash video technology; which is often used in multimedia web sites such as YouTube.
Thanks to its Sleep-and-Charge USB option, it can charge portable user devices such as MP3 players, and smart phones, even when the computer is in hibernation or turned off.
Super-bright display from Samsung is up to 50% brighter than other conventional netbooks, ensuring sharp images and clear text that is easy is to read. At the same time, the anti-glare technology allows the user to work on projects for longer periods of time without the risk of straining eyes.
The screen for the NC215S has a thin frame, which makes the viewing experience maximized. The arrangement of keys is ergonomically spaced, providing optimum comfort for typing.
The netbook weighs just 1.32 kg, with a battery life of 14.5 hours with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom dual core Processor, and the Intel GMA 3510 graphics chip-set. It has a memory capacity of 250 GB of storage and 1GB of RAM. It also has a scratch-resistant protection layer on the screen, which is a good choice for frequent travelers.
Samsung NC215S is slated for release in the US in July for an estimated US$399.
